Fermentive was created by Joshua Ratliff, a professional brewer with more than a decade of hands-on experience in production brewing, cellar operations, recipe development, quality control, and brewery management. Joshua holds an associate’s degree in Brewing & Distilling, combining real-world brewery experience with formal technical training in fermentation science, production practices, and beverage operations.
Fermentive is built around practical, preventive brewing support. The company is not tied to equipment suppliers, ingredient vendors, or sales-driven recommendations. Instead, the focus is on understanding each brewery’s goals, constraints, and production realities, then helping owners and brewers make better decisions around process, consistency, quality, efficiency, and long-term growth.
Designed for small and growing breweries, Fermentive provides experienced technical support without requiring a full-time production manager or a consultant tied to a supplier. Whether a brewery is opening for the first time, improving an existing operation, tightening SOPs, or solving recurring production issues, Fermentive helps build stronger systems and better beer from the ground up.
